A brief introduction to the 4 foundations of mind yoga.

Body

The body as the foundation and ground of our existence is recognised as the first principle in mind yoga. Understanding and responding to our bodies facilitates and promotes integration of mind and body for overall well-being.


Awareness

Awareness is the quality of mind that, like the breath, is often unconscious yet with practice can be brought into conscious control.

Mind yoga techniques harness the power of our awareness directing it toward body and mind promoting integration and control of both.

Breath

The breath is oxygen for body and mind, yet with breath awareness we have a profound and direct gateway to mental and physical health.

Breathing is both an unconscious and conscious process that allows us unique access to both aspects of the mind.

Mind

The mind is the thoughts and emotions that can cause much suffering and distress. Though the processes of both talk therapy and mind yoga the content of the mind, the thoughts and emotions, can be balanced and empowered restoring mental stability and health.

Through my own personal challenges and life experiences I initially developed an interest in meditation and mindfulness practices that became a foundation for my passion for psychology, psychological well-being and personal development.

This passion has expanded to taking on years of study and the requisite qualifications enabling me to be in the service of others willing to undertake their own journey.

True Word is a platform that is devoted to psychological well-being through combining the disciplines of therapeutic counselling, with the psychological aspects of yoga techniques enabling inner transformation.
